About

For over ten years at the U.S. Department of Labor, I’ve bridged the gap between data science and federal policy. My work spans the full pipeline: from data engineering to analysis, modeling, and forecasting — all the way through to deployment.

I specialize in architecting production-grade tools in Rust and Julia, building LLM-powered agents using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and building models that answer real questions — like where the federal government should hire to best serve American workers.

I'm especially interested in problems where computation and statistics meet real-world consequence — where a model doesn't just describe the world but shapes budgets, enforcement strategy, or policy.

Experience

Work

Data Scientist (Detail)

U.S. Department of Labor, Chief Data & Analytics Office

Leading the development of a department-wide data science and analytics platform, a unified, machine-readable data ecosystem for education and labor via RDF and semantic web technologies, and an MCP server to bridge AI systems with public federal labor data, enabling natural-language access to government datasets.

Work

Staff Data Scientist

U.S. Department of Labor, Wage & Hour Division

Architect and deploy production-grade tools across the full data pipeline — from document retrieval systems in Rust (approved for DOL's Certified Software List) to constrained optimization models in JuMP.jl for national labor-allocation problems. Design and execute causal inference studies, Monte Carlo performance models, predictive models, time series modeling, and much more.
